I started sketch-noting in college and it grew over time in my work.
Look below for the sketch notes that I took for my sessions at Ownpath product design fellowship.

Sketch-noting with Koel Chatterjee
To find ideas, find problems. To find problems, talk to people. ๐จ๐ฉ
- Julie Zhou, Designer and Author ๐
Today, Koel C. took an exciting session with us on Design Research at ownpath facilitated by Arnab Chakravarty. We dived into the basics of Design Research thoroughly, investigating the need for research and whom it caters to in Design Process. We learnt how research lies in the intersection of Users, Business and Technology. We studied the art of questioning inwards and outwards. Koel taught us how to design customer profiles and product value maps through blueprints. She articulated how to create our research plan rightly and concluded the session with a fun exercise that helped to summarise all our learnings of the session. Quick #sketchnotes and some key points from the session below๐

Sketch-noting with Pranshu Chaudhary
Tech gives the quietest student a voice. ๐ฉโ๐ป๐จโ๐ป

And Tik Tok was changing the way children learn online before it got banned in India ๐ ๐ฑ
Today, Pranshu Chaudhary took an informative session on @tiktok Product teardown at @ownpath_xyz. It was a tribute to Tik Tok and @alexzhu, former head and Musical.ly cofounder in charge of Gen Z's favourite video-sharing app. I was highly intrigued by Zhu's personality as the New York Times described the 43-year-old Zhu as having"a little artsy oddness. In 2019, he also referred to himself on LinkedIn as a "designtrepreneur," and listed his work location as Mars.
We had an exciting session on the #app onboarding and the 'aha' #moments it creates. We also learnt how Tik Tok has successfully created immersive #experiences, formed habits and built #communities. We talked about design #ethics and how behavioural studies conducted by Tik Tok have affected their algorithms. Tik Tok is a powerful learning tool and is transforming education for #GenZ through appropriate hashtags (part of their branding), music (part of the campaigns) and opening access to unlimited channels. Various studies have shown how Tik Tok can help captivate students' attention and thus improve their performance. This insight was new to me, and I look forward to studying more apps transforming the education landscape in India as well. Quick #sketchnotes and some key points from the session below๐

Sketch-noting with Akshay Verma and Shivani Gupta
In my work experience of more than four years in the design industry, I have realised that quality trumps quantity no matter where one is. To improve my current skillset and develop as a mature multidisciplinary designer, I found my way to #ownpath, a platform based on community, mentorship, and outcomes.
I came across #ownpath through a design podcast called Audiogyan, which triggered my interest in this unique design-driven community platform. On 12th March '22, we had our first session where we met our superb mentors Arnab and Ruchin. At first, I felt excited and anxious since I had never delved into online learning. Bit by bit, I overcame my shyness and started questioning and voicing my doubts. Starting from turning our cameras on to sharing meaningful insights with strangers is completely exhilarating; we started our session with the foundations of Visual Design, learning the basics and laws of UX.
Interestingly, we started working on our first Visual Design project where we were redesigning a government app, which I have used multiple times for my essential document verification. I have had a significant amount of experience in Adobe XD. We were doing a lot of #figma; I have worked on Figma before, but I was going through a mental block to switching to Figma; often, starting is the hardest, but it became easier once I began. Arnab and Ruchin were helping us generously along the way, but we had to take more ownership of the same. We were on our own, designing the screens for the app- #experimenting, #exploring and having fun along the way. Ownpath has indeed empowered me to collaborate with a pool of varied and aspiring designers virtually.
In our Session with Akshay Verma, we dived deep into interaction design. The masterclasses encouraged #engagement with peers, having discussion moments and holding practical demonstrations. We got introduced to prototyping and the steps to run a test. Identifying design requirements and fleshing out problem statements topped the list!
In our session with Shivani Gupta for psychology in design, she taught us to how to factor in #emotions in our research. We studied emotion theory and its applications. Personally, it was fascinating for me since I have a particular interest in psychology and its applications in design. I stumbled upon behavioural science in the process and became increasingly interested in the journal of consumer research by Coglode - Bite-sized behavioural research papers to help one understand and solve problems.
I am looking forward to having more exciting sessions lined up for the year. I have been fortunate to attend a series of sessions at #ownpath, helping me grow and flourish in UI/UX. Quick #sketchnotes from the session with Arnab Chakravarty, Akshay Verma, Shivani Gupta and Monali.
